February 26

Week 4

What’s been happening in Room 12?

SRC- Our SRC representatives were selected! Thank you to all the applicants for taking the time to apply, the applications were of a high standard. Mrs Wright read each of the applications (anonymously) and then the students voted. Congratulations to our chosen reps; Bastien, Amelia, Olivia and Charlotte. First meeting is Friday week 5.

Science- In Science, we have been looking at pollination and how plants grow. Students enjoyed making a model of a flower and a bee this week to investigate how a bee pollinates a flower.

Oxford Words– Oxford words went home on Friday. These are a list of the words that when tested, your child spelt incorrectly. These words were pasted into student’s homework books so they don’t lose them.*If your child didn’t bring any words home, this is because they demonstrated that they could spell every word correctly.

Homework– I was most impressed with the effort students put into their first homework grid. Let’s keep up the effort! Although the students take the grid home on a Friday, the spelling words aren’t handed out until a Monday. However, the weekend allows them extra time to complete the other activities on the grid.
